About

What Makes Us Worthy of Your Business?

Curiosity Drives our Expertise. Fun Drives our Enthusiasm.

Computers are machines that serve people’s intentions at any given moment. To us, they also represent the merger of ideas and changing technologies. All of us at Computer Concepts are innately and intentionally driven to participate in the technological world as it continues to change.

The Founders

Founded in 1990 by technology aficionados Will and Robin Rutherford, with the help of their like-minded friend Charles, Computer Concepts initially provided Amiga (Commodore), Atari, Mac and PC hardware, software and service.

Over the next ten years the company shifted, in step with its customers, to primarily PC-related services. We continue to incorporate technology advances into our knowledgebase and product lines.

Still Having Fun

Our founders’ initial bond with computers was forged through gaming. Will and Robin are Dungeons & Dragons players who jumped to online games early, as the internet advanced.

Virtually all Computer Concepts staff actively play—and we love talking about it! We build gaming systems and stock our collectibles area because we truly enjoy tech pop culture.

Transparent Value

You can watch us work at the store, if you like. Repair pricing is based on the actual time spent, not set fees that can cost you too much. We stand behind every piece of computer equipment we sell with a one-year warranty.

Our Reviews

We are extremely proud of our five-star reviews on Yelp and Angie’s List. Our customers rarely experience the need for a service re-do, but if it happens we make it right. When we do a repair or build a system, we can say confidently “See you in a few years for an upgrade!”

The People Working for You

Staff stick around, so when our customers come
back for that upgrade, we know each other.

Founders

Robin Rutherford
Robin co-founded Computer Concepts with the idea of doing every job the right way. She keeps her eye out for the best equipment and collectibles while keeping the business books. She has a thing for Minecraft gear. When not working, she creates imaginative quilts, plays online games and enjoys an occasional game of Dungeons & Dragons. Robin is married to co-founder, Will.

Will Rutherford
Will’s approach as Computer Concepts’ co-founder is to make technology user-friendly for everyone. He’s a plain-talker who oversees customer service for the company. He continues to service computers and systems and is well-known to just about every customer. He indulges in a monthly Dungeons & Dragons game with coworkers and is an online gamer. Will is married to co-founder, Robin.

Partners

Charles
Charles formally joined Computer Concepts in 1997 and is now a partner in the business. He is the Lead Technologist, systems co-administrator and keeps the entire team updated on security threats and tools. He enjoys a good mystery, listening to jazz and blues, and (of course) online games. He is part of the monthly Dungeons & Dragons group (with Will and Nate).

Expert Staff

David
David serves our business customers, from initial server setup through maintenance and system security. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He is also a collectibles expert. David spends his leisure time reading comics and expanding his collection of Magic Cards, Funko and other collectibles. Yes, he’s an online gamer and Dungeons & Dragons player. And a rock climber.

Debra
As Office Manager, Debra helps Computer Concepts run smoothly. She joined our team in 2013 and is a great resource for our equipment and collectibles customers. Debra’s family includes her husband, two children and three grandchildren.

Robert
Robert is a highly skilled general computer technician (hardware and software). He started working with computers in the 1960s and joined the Computer Concepts team in 2010. Robert is a gamer and a grandfather. He also builds model rockets for fun.

Nate

As our Network Architect, Nate ensures work in this area goes according to plan. He has worked full- and part-time for Computer Concepts for many years, bringing fresh learning to our ranks from his corporate technology roles. Nate describes himself as a husband, father, friend and full-time computer geek.
